Current Announcements:
Homework is due on Friday. A copy of the homework is here: may 14.pdf
A new way to practice and master those addition and subtraction facts can be found at http://www.bigbrainz.com/Addition-Subtraction.php. My daughter used this site to work on her multiplication and division facts and now it has branched out to addition and subtraction. Also see http://www.fun4thebrain.com
Please have AR books in the backpack everyday to read at school and at home. Remember to ask your child about his/her AR test every week. Library visit is on Tuesday. This is our final checkout. All library books need to be returned on Friday.
It has a lot of important information concerning the last month of school. It also has a copy of "Learning Style Information" sheet. This gives you opportunity to let us know more about your child and their learning style. It is NOT for requesting a teacher next year. This form is optional and is due NO LATER than May 11th. The form is also available in the office.
Our Prairie Hills parents are so fortunate to have access to master’s level, on-line learning about reading from Dr. Barbara Swaby, herself (and it is FREE)!
Research shows that one reason children do not read enough over the summer is because they have difficulty finding books at their reading level that really interest them. By logging onto http://www.lexile.com/findabook/ parents, teachers and students can find a reading map, book search tool and other free resources they can access to help them use measures to find challenging and engaging books for summer reading and throughout the year. For more information about the Summer Reading program through the state library, visit http://www.coloradostatelibrary.org or contact Beth Crist, youth and family services consultant at the Colorado State Library at crist_b@cde.state.co.us or 303-866-6908.

Timed Math Facts Practice: We have a goal to have all students fluent in their addition and subtraction facts by May. Please help with this practice nightly.. New timed math fact practice online: http://www.mathfactgenius.com/nodata_add_0-9.html for sums 0 - 9 and http://www.mathfactgenius.com/nodata_add_10-18.html for sums 10 - 18. Set the time to 3 seconds and then a print out will occur for the facts and the time to complete them. Then personalized worksheets can be printed for practice on the facts that are taking longer than 3 seconds to answer.
